Installation: Responsible for installing electrical systems, wiring, and equipment according to the applicable codes and regulations. This includes working with lighting, outlets, switches, and circuit breakers. 2. Maintenance and Repair: Diagnose and repair electrical issues. May be called upon to troubleshoot problems, replace faulty components, and ensure the overall safety and functionality of electrical systems. 3. Inspections: Conduct inspections of existing electrical systems to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations. This may involve checking wiring, circuit breakers, and other components for any potential hazards. 4. Blueprint Reading: Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and electrical schematics. This skill is crucial for understanding the layout and specifications of electrical systems. 5. Compliance: Adhering to local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations is a fundamental aspect of the job. Stay updated on changes in codes and ensure that the work meets the required standards. 6. A candidate for this position should have at least a high school diploma, or equivalent, and at least two (2) years of documentable work experience as an electrician.
